Two degree plans for the Bachelor's Accelerated Completion program have been posted to the BAC website. The degree plans include a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from UT Permian Basin and a Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies from UT El Paso. Both programs are launching this fall with accelerated courses running seven to eight weeks in length.
Admissions links and details on how students can get started will be posted soon. In the meantime. Any questions should be directed to telecampus@utsystem.edu.

IOL Proposal Deadline, Awards and Conference Registration
The deadline to submit a proposal for the UT System Innovations in Online Learning Conference is this Friday, January 29th. Submit your proposal online today!

Nominations for the 2010 IOL Awards are now open. Nominate yourself, colleagues or even a project team for contributions over the past year to the field of online education. Award nominations must be submitted online by March 5th.
Register now for the 2010 IOL Conference and take advantage of the early bird discount. Recognizing a year of tight budgets, we are offering the 2010 conference at the same rates as 2009. Also, be sure to register for one of the three preconference workshops being offered at a low $25 registration fee – space is limited.

Fall 2009 Enrollments and Survey Results
UT TeleCampus enrollments for the fall 2009 semester totaled 7,714 on the campuses census dates, a 30% increase from fall 2008. Students had the opportunity to register for 248 courses, taught by 187 faculty, from 12 campuses. The UT TeleCampus programs with the largest enrollment were:

- Master of Education, Instructional Specialist/Alternative Teacher Certification Program (569)

- UT Arlington (1,888)

- UT Brownsville (1,015)
Highlights from the UTTC Student Survey administered during the fall 2009 semester include:
- 69 percent of respondents stated that their involvement with the UT System is a direct result of the UT TeleCampus.
- 88 percent of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that their experience with the UT TeleCampus was positive.
- 57 percent of respondents said that they visited the UT TeleCampus Getting Started webpage. (This section of the UT TeleCampus website is developed to help students succeed by providing necessary tips and resources for a good early start on the semester including: computer setup information, campus liaisons and contact information for support in their online courses.)

Blackboard Maintenance Window
So that the UT TeleCampus can continue to provide a stable learning environment, 2:00-6:00am Central time on Tuesdays is reserved for minor preventive maintenance. This maintenance window is scheduled during the lowest usage time for the system. Blackboard may or may not be available during this time, depending on whether maintenance is necessary. Whenever possible, this time will be utilized to perform all minor maintenance.

UT TeleCampus Programs Make ‘Best Buy’ List
GetEducated.com has ranked online master’s degrees in education and library science in terms of affordability. The list includes 94 institutions that offer degrees for less than $16,000. Four UT TeleCampus degree programs were included in the ranking: Master’s in Kinesiology, Master of Education Instructional Specialist, Master of Education in Educational Technology, and Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction with Literacy Emphasis. GetEducated.com is a consumer watchdog and advocacy group that rates, ranks, and verifies the cost, quality and credibility of online colleges and universities. They are fast becoming the ‘go to’ site for those wanting credible online education. Communication Services promotes UTTC programs in a number of GetEducated’s databases of distance education programs.

Proposals that address the unique challenges and opportunities with the delivery, support, evaluation, and management of online teaching and learning are encouraged.
